Meet our new Board Member, Celia Harms

Celia has extensive experience working in the not-for-profit sector and volunteering for many organizations over her 21 year career. She spoke to Katherine Fenech about her decision to join the Foundation in her retirement.

Like many others, Celia Harms found the Tim Griffith Foundation through personal tragedy. Her youngest son Jonathan died after taking medication for a migraine.

Celia, her husband Terry, and sons David and Adam, were heartbroken and confused by Jonathan’s death, and pulled together in their grief. Jonathan had struggled with migraines from the age of five, which doctors prescribed...

In November each year we welcome 300+ people to our annual Gala--friends, supporters, clients, and partners who share a common goal: to provide support and services to those impacted by addiction, violence and loss. The Gala shines a spotlight on our clients who share their personal stories of support received and peace and healing found, that they never thought possible again in their lives.

It’s a fun evening that includes a silent auction, a live auction, three course plated dinner, and an informative, inspiring...

Successful Redwood City Rotary Raffle!

We are pleased to announce that the Foundation raised almost $7,000.00 through our participation in the Rotary Raffle.
The winning ticket was drawn on the 4th of July and we are sorry to say that it was not one of the tickets we sold, but the lucky winner went away with a new car or $15,000. And, everyone had a great time enjoying the suspense of who might win and the fun of hearing the named called.
We want to say thank you to all our supporters who purchased raffle tickets--this was one of our biggest fundraising years with this activity. Please stay involved, and maybe you will be the lucky winner next year!

Why I Volunteer - By Carolyn Yates

Carolyn Yates, founding board member with Stacey Redman, Foundation President

Carolyn Yates (R), founding board member with Stacey Redman (L), Foundation President and Founder

"It is my desire that at the end of the day, my time was spent helping to light more candles than are being blown out. The Tim Griffith Foundation has allowed me the opportunity to do just that in a very direct way. That's why I volunteer."

I am a busy person. Ask my sister who resorts to messaging my friends to make sure I'm OK. Ask my friend who invited me to a luncheon that I RSVP'd yes to-- only to find it was a week past the event (OK, maybe I'm busy and also not the most organized). I work at a tech company...

Bringing Hope to our Community!

At the near conclusion of a very difficult election season, our Gala event reminded everyone that real hope and change happens locally every single day.  Over 240 guests raised $130,000 to support the work of the Tim Griffith Foundation—that will bring hope to a lot of folks!

What does every Tim Griffith Foundation Gala have?  Lots of fun, friends, excitement and hope, which is what we experienced at the 12th Annual TGF Gala on November 5th.   Another year to celebrate the great work and hope your donations bring to our communities.  Our donors always enjoy the fun of the silent and live auctions and sharing a meal with friends and family.  And most of all, donors tell us how much it means to hear from the clients we serve, and...
