TGF Mourns Mike Nevin's Passing

Earlier this month, the foundation lost a wonderful friend and supporter when Mike Nevin, Executive Director of the San Mateo Service League, passed away. Mike was instrumental in forging the unique community partnership between the Tim Griffith Foundation, the Service League and Bridges, which led to the opening and operation of Tim's House in Redwood City. Teams Cunningham, Barrow & Wilson Win!

Sunday June 3rd was a glorious day at Los Lagos Golf Course in San Jose—it was the 5th annual Tim Griffith Foundation Golf Tournament.

There were over 45 in attendance for golf and a BBQ lunch. Tim and Josh’s uncle Marty (Redman) is the director of this traditional event and was key to the establishment of this tournament as well as continuing on as our annual director. We Love Redwood City Whole Foods!

Thank you to Whole Foods Market in Redwood City for allowing their employees to take time off to work as a volunteer at the Tim Griffith Foundation’s 8th Annual Gala on Saturday Nov 10th! Because we are an all-volunteer organization and this is the largest single fundraiser to support our work we welcome this community support. The Redwood City Whole Foods store has been a huge supporter of the Foundation and we thank them—especially Will Elliot and Nancy Leal. Please attend the Gala to see this great team at work! 

Meadowlark Retreat and Series

Meadowlark is a weekend grief retreat providing a safe and warm environment for grieving mothers. The most recent retreat was held on April 20-22, 2012. The Meadowlark Retreats were conceived by two mothers (and a few dear friends) who sought a safe setting and extended time to focus on grieving the sudden loss of their adult children.

The Meadowlard Series is a day of support for Mothers who have previously attended a Meadowlark Retreat.  The day brings women together to reconnect and support each other during what is typically a difficult time for grieving.  In anticipation of Mother's Day, the next...
